The word "bullying" has become a propaganda weapon to distract from demands for journalistic integrity.

Biddle tweets Edit

On October 16, 2014, Gawker employee Sam Biddle said "nerds should be constantly shamed and degraded into submission" and "Bring Back Bullying". Activists highlighted this language to call for advertisers to boycott Gawker, with some noting that the Parent Advocacy Coalition for Education Rights (PACER Center) had declared October to be National Bullying Awareness Prevention Month.

Bullying accusations against activists Edit

Beginning in November, the word "Bullying" was increasingly used against the critics of Gawker, with Gawker and its allies either not mentioned or portrayed as innocent.

On November 4, 2014, WTF Magazine was kicked off Facebook for "bullying". WTF Magazine had been discussing Gamergate on its Twitter feed.

On November 5, 2014, DiGRA vice president Jose P. Zagal alleged that members of the organization had faced "harassment and bullying", providing no examples.

Around November 13, 2014, a CBC report favorably covering people linked to DiGRA twice accused anti-corruption activists of "bullying" women.
