In July 2014, Rock, Paper, Shotgun reported on a rape accusation against Cards Against Humanity creator Max Temkin. The article, by Robert Florence, made note of the fact that no other gaming journalists were covering the accusation and accused Temkin of "perpetuating some ridiculous rape culture myths" for having said that "rape culture ... makes it difficult to talk about what is and is not consent, and makes it incredibly scary for people to speak up when their boundaries are crossed."
