TechRaptor is a tech news website that has been covering Gamergate.
Denial of service Edit
In August 2014, TechRaptor was knocked offline by its hosting provider after publishing a serious of articles about Zoe Quinn and Phil Fish. Support staff refused to fix the problem and TechRaptor had to get the company's vice president involved.
On September 8, 2014, Techraptor announced that its website had been hacked around the time of writing an article on GamerGate, and a day or two of data may have been lost.
It appears to have happened, or started, shortly after our host nulled our IP and we came back up.
The damage was:
Plugins edited, db files changes, PHP Files blank, and rogue ad code in various files.
Denial of Service Edit
On October 9, 2014, Techraptor reported being the target of a denial-of-service attack.
For the third time in about a month, our site is being attacked. Currently we're trying to figure out how to combat a bot that is executing some sort of a Database Denial of Service attack. Will update when we can.
@georgieonthego hack Edit
On October 30, 2014 Techraptor employee @georgieonthego reported 1, 2 that her personal and business email accounts had been broken into, the latter within five minutes of it being issued to her. On October 31 she noticed that her Paypal account had also been broken into.
US politics Edit
On November 8, 2014, Techraptor writer Todd Wohling announced that as a lifelong left-winger he had voted a straight Republican ticket in protest of the mainstream media collusion against Gamergate activists.
